For a little while I’ve been watching the work of photography duo Bel and River. These wonderful ladies started The First Hello, a birth photography business capturing those precious moments when your child is born.

After a series of events and chatting about their photography ‘bucket list moments’, it wasn’t long before the ladies started The First Hello. They are there to be flies on the wall documenting the beauty of birth and those intimate moments when you first lay eyes on your new baby.
Their skills are unbelievable. To be able to frame and grab the atmosphere of the room, your emotion, and the ‘first hello’ when your little one arrives, takes some serious talent.
I know having a photographer in the birthing suite is not everyone’s cup of tea, so when I found out the ladies offer a ‘day after’ or ‘newborn shoot’ I couldn’t be happier and I booked them in for the arrival of our baby #3, Scarlett Rose.
Those who have kids already will know, but for new mums, I must tell you that the newborn phase passes by so quickly. If you can book the ladies from The First Hello or someone similar I highly recommend it. With Scarlett being my last baby, I wanted to make sure I had pictures of our young family as time goes by so quickly these days. I’m so thrilled with the pictures that River took, so I thought I’d share a few of my favourites with you.
